What do you specialize in? I specialize in treating mental and emotional health conditions using a naturopathic approach.
What does that mean exactly? It means that I routinely treat people who are challenged with issues such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders and other conditions that are known as “mental health” conditions. I use naturopathic medicine which is a holistic approach to support people’s healing that addresses their thoughts, emotions, mental and physical symptoms.
How do I do this? Using my background in psychology and counseling, as well as naturopathic medicine, I look for the root cause of the imbalance they are experiencing through gathering a complete history of their mental and emotional health, family history, physical health. I also routinely order labs to help discover the root causes of imbalances and inform treatment plans. Then I customize a treatment plan that is unique for every person.
What kinds of treatment approaches do you use? I often use mental health counseling as this really gets at the root cause of the imbalance because it helps us to look deeply at issues that are causing us stress, sadness, anger, etc. In addition, I add on naturopathic approaches that I have found to be very successful in providing relief for things like insomnia, anxiety, depression, food addiction, food fears and much more.
What are naturopathic approaches? Treatment approaches I commonly use include homeopathy, flower essences, herbal medicine, mental health counseling, diet/lifestyle counseling, and nutrient (vitamin) supplementation. Most of my patients benefit from a combination of these approaches.
If you have more questions about my practice, please feel free to call, text or e-mail me. I am always happy to set up a complementary phone call or in person meeting so that you can get to know more about my practice and how I may be of support.
